  1. Registered or incorporated business

    Use a document that matches your business name and the requested details. Choose the country where the business is based: the HMRC options above are UK-specific. Other countries show different choices.

  2. Sole trader, non-incorporated or unregistered business

    No incorporation certificate? Another offered document, such as a business bank statement, may be suitable. No registration or accepted business evidence? An optional ID field does not guarantee eligibility. Ask Meta which alternative evidence it accepts; never invent an ID.

  3. Which fields are optional?

    In the shown Business details screen, Business tax ID/Registration Number and Alternative business name are optional. Leave them blank if inapplicable. Business name is required and must match accepted documents. Add a genuine trading name only when relevant.
